Buying two or three weeks before Eid gets you a better price and a calmer animal. It also means keeping a goat, or a cow, in a house that was not designed for one.
The practical problems:
- Rooftop, garage, side lane, or the front porch -- each has a different set of complaints
- Shade and airflow, because a rooftop in June is brutal
- Waste, smell, and flies
- Neighbours
- Noise at night
- Children who want to play with it, and an animal that is not a pet
- Keeping the feed consistent so it does not lose condition in the days before Eid
