Labradors and German Shepherds are the two breeds most Pakistani buyers start with, and a desi dog is the option almost nobody considers until they have owned one.
Rough case for each, as people usually put it:
- Labrador — easy temperament, good with children, eats everything including things it should not, sheds constantly, prone to hip problems and to getting fat.
- German Shepherd — smarter, needs a job or it invents one, guards without being taught, needs real training or the guarding becomes a problem, hips again.
- Desi — already adapted to this climate, far fewer vet bills, immune system that has seen this country, and you can usually get one for free from the street.
