Flats are getting more common in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, and so is the argument: a dog in a two-bedroom apartment is either fine or it is cruelty, depending on who you ask.
The honest version seems to be that it depends far more on the walking than on the square footage. A Lab that gets two proper walks a day is better off than a Lab on a rooftop that nobody takes out.
If you keep a dog in a flat:
- Which breed, and how big?
- How many walks, and where do you actually walk when there are strays on the street?
- What do you do about the neighbours and the lift?
- Anything you would not repeat?
And if you moved a dog from a house to a flat, what changed in its behaviour?
