Imported kibble has doubled in price, the brands on the shelf keep changing, and half the "imported" bags in the market are repacked.
The options in practice:
- Imported premium brands, when you can find them and afford them
- Local commercial kibble
- Home-cooked -- rice, chicken, bones, whatever the family eats
- A mix, usually kibble topped with something real
Home-cooked is not automatically worse, but it is very easy to get wrong: too much rice and not enough protein, no calcium source, and cooked bones which splinter.
Tell us:
- What are you feeding, and what does it cost you per month?
- What is your dog's weight and condition on it?
- Anything that caused loose stools, itching or a dull coat when you switched?
Please name actual brands and actual prices. Vague advice helps nobody buy anything.
